The Servo Motor is a special component in the LEGO Power Functions line since it was specially designed for steering. Therefore, if you want to control remotely the steering of your LEGO MOCs (Cars, Trucks, Boats or any type of machine), this is the way to go. It can also be very useful to control specific mechanisms such as switches, arms, doors…
The Mould King version, like all the other replicas available on the market (despite any claims), has 3 positions: Center, Left and Right. Even though depending on the voltage applied, the motor position changes accordingly, this can’t be strictly considered Proportional Control. This allows it to have much faster response times than the original and much more strength, a highly valued feature in any car’s steering. If you are looking for an alternative proportional servo motor, we are sorry to tell you that this doesn’t still exist. Your only option is paying the prohibitive retail price of the original one or waiting until some brand manufactures it. You can be sure about something, though: as soon as this exists, it will be available here at technicbriks.com!
Due to being discontinued in 2014, since there are limited units, the current market value of the original version is above 47€, which makes it a bit expensive for the value it provides.
